Established in 1838, The Royal Oak was once at the heart of Adelaide’s west end. It has lived through more than 180 years and several incarnations to survive as one of the city’s oldest continual licensed venues. Even today, if you look closely under the verandah, you can find a mark from the original telegraph poles in this photo.
Continuing the tradition for our medical friends, we introduce our Jolly Bar, just a stone’s throw from the Royal Adelaide Hospital. If you like gin, craft beer and decent wine, come & relax in a cosy spot and discover the full story behind this upstairs bar.
Most importantly, since our opening date on October 6th 2017, we has strived to return this heritage icon to its former standing as the best in the west, while adding a few contemporary conveniences along the way. With an array of beers, wines and spirits to choose from, and a dining menu that not only nails the pub classics, but adds an exciting modern-Australian twist… why waste your time reading this? We’re waiting!
